What a beautiful place Philo Pharm is!  It is such a joy to live here surrounded by so many wonderful plants.

Below are some favorites - Passionflower for soothing a racing mind, Ashwaganda to warm and calm, the elegant White Sage with its spires of flowers - we use it to purify and for wisdom, and Wild Mexican Yam (Diascorea villosa) for balancing women's hormones.  Scroll down for more!

White Sage - we use it to purify or "smudge"

I start the plants indoors in March, using the Speedling System trays from Peaceful Valley Supply and then moving them to individual pots before moving them outdoors.  This nurturance of the baby plants is so rewarding!

Sweet Annie (Artemisia Annua)

Sweet Annie (Artemisia annua) smells as good as its name.  It is used world-wide to treat malaria.

Granddaughter Mikaela, a budding plant lover herself.

Mikaela spends lots of time watering plants and clearly loves them.  Watching Mikaela and plants grow bring great joy to Mary Pat and the Philo School.

Elecampane (Inula helenium) and Elise

The Elecampane is a very beautiful tall plant with amazing healing properties for the respiratory and digestive systems.  Here student Elise Rodriguez is sheltered and enchanted by the soft leaves.
